at the Lavender Festival

Thursday, July 19, 2012 (arrival) - Monday, July 23, 2012

Sequim, Washington is the Lavender Capital of North America, and the third week of July is the annual Sequim Lavender Festival .

Finding a place for a group to camp in Sequim in July is not easy, so you have to book way in advance. I found a sweet little park in Sequim that is beautifully maintained and convenient to everything - Gilgal Oasis RV Park

Gilgal does not accept group reservations in July or August, so all reservations must be made individually. They have 15 sites available for Lavender Festival 2012, and require a 3 night minimum during the festival, the first night is non-refundable but transferrable.

If you would like to join us in sunny Sequim, Washington for lavender festival please call Gilgal directly to book your space (1-888-445-4251) and let them know you are with NoWACA. The cost will be approximately $40/night. They will ask for Visa or Mastercard to cover the first night and hold the reservation, but will not charge your card until December of 2011. If your credit card expires before 12/11, they will call you in December for your current credit card information.

They are not holding these 15 sites, it is a first come, first served basis, so if you're interested, please call right away to secure your spot. If you find that you are unable to come to the rally, they will allow you to transfer your reservation to another NoWACA member. If you call and all the sites are spoken for, they will place your name on a waiting list.

The dates are Thursday, July 19, 2012 (arrival) - Monday, July 23, 2012 (departure). Traffic leaving Sequim on Sunday is awful and not worth the hassle. As Larry said, "you can leave on Sunday, and we'll catch up with you on Monday!"

The owner of the park was very friendly and had a lot of suggestions for things to do and see. Something they currently offer is a day trip to Victoria and Butchart Gardens. The price is about $100 per person and includes bus transportation to Port Angeles, ferry fare to Victoria (and back) and a BusTour of Victoria

The park also offers a pet sitting service if you're away for the day and need someone to check on your animals.

Larry doesn't know it yet, but we will be hosting the rally would anyone like to cohost with us?
